Beautiful Destinations That Make Horrible Vacations

In this list, we're dishing the dirt on some of the most beautiful destinations in the world so you won’t make a horrible vacation decision.

We all long to go on beautiful, relaxing vacations. When we plan our vacations, we often plan them based on pictures we have seen online, either on social media or travel planning websites. Beautiful landscapes and skylines flood our screens and we envision ourselves being there in person, feeling relaxed, inspired, and recharged, ready to take on anything that can come our way.

However, if you do end up booking a vacation based solely on the images, you might end up being very disappointed with the end result of this investment. It is important to not only examine how beautiful the place is that you are planning to travel to, but also the economic, social, and political climate as well as weather patterns, how many and what types of other tourists will be there with you, and what types of activities there are for you and your family to enjoy.

Some of the most beautiful places in the world will actually make a horrible vacation, especially if you have grand expectations of serenity and fun but are instead met with a very crowded and noisy city or even with no activity at all.

In this list, I saved you some time by dishing the dirt on some of the most beautiful destinations in the world so you won’t make a horrible vacation decision.

Paris, France

As Americans, we have a very romanticized view of France. Anything French is seen as sophisticated, classic, and timeless, so it's only fitting that Paris is at the top of most Americans’ travel bucket lists.

It is called the “city of love” after all—and who doesn’t want to travel to such a romantic destination, especially with the one you love?

However, you would likely be sorely let down if you go to Paris with this idea. Many American tourists say that Paris is a dirty city that's often crowded with locals and other tourists from all over the world.

Not only that, but Parisians may come off as rude to many Americans, and vice versa. So, it might be hard to feel welcomed in this mega metropolis. Several people do love their vacations to Paris, though, so it definitely isn’t all bad, but if you go into it with the highest of expectations, you will very likely be let down.
